If you are in need of a gift for Mom for Mother’s Day look no further than Bladen County Cooperative Extension. They are offering afghans which depict various historical events and places from around Bladen County.

The afghans were started as a fundraiser for the Cooperative Extension office to meet some of its funding needs. LaToya Lucy, with Bladen County Cooperative Extension, said of the afghans, “It was a way to furnish extra money for programming support for Extension.”

Both she and Director Becky Spearman said the afghans have been a staple of Bladen County Cooperative Extension for a while.  The afghans cost $55 each and they can be purchased by check or cash by visiting the Bladen County Cooperative Extension Office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cooperative Extension is located at 450 Smith Circle in Elizabethtown. For questions, call 910-862-4591
