Hurricane Matthew affect our local animals too. The Bladen County Animal Shelter is full with 14 extra dogs due to the impact of Hurricane Matthew on Bladen County. October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and the shelter is helping to promote the occasion. Now through the end of October anyone adopting a shelter dog from the local shelter will have the adoption fees waived.
The shelter is also accepting donations. If you have blankets, toys or treats you would like to donate you may drop them by the shelter during their normal operating hours.
