The railroad has entered the county to perform track maintenance along the CSX line – expect several upcoming closures. An update of road openings / closings is as follows:
OPENINGS:
Mote Road
All work is complete on Mote Road and it is open.
Beards Chapel Loop Road
Beards Chapel Loop Road is open.
CLOSINGS:
Coley Road
Coley Road remains closed in order to replace the bridge over Hammonds Creek. A signed detour is in effect to use Airport Road / White Plains Church Road/ Vause Road/Rosindale Road.
NEW East Arcadia Road
CSX has closed East Arcadia Road at the railroad beginning today (Wednesday, Jan. 24). Expect the closure to remain in place through early next week. The Falling Star / Bowen Blanks Road crossing is NOT closed so that is the closest alternative around the work area using Old Lake Road to Falling Star/Bowen Blanks to Dickson Road.
NEW -Rosindale Road
CSX has closed Rosindale Road at the railroad beginning today (Wednesday, Jan. 24). Expect the closure to remain in place through early next week. Use NC 211 and White Plains Church Road for access around the work area.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
701 Business (College Street) in Clarkton
Beginning tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 25), CSX will close US 701 Business in Clarkton at the railroad. The location will be closed until early next week. Use West North Railroad Street and West South Railroad Street for access around the closure.
ELWELL FERRY:
The Elwell Ferry is operating.
