By: NC DOT official Kenneth Clark:

Water levels went down in the White Oak area and in Big Swamp along the Robeson County line.  Bridges were checked such that River Road and Burney Road were re-opened.  Also, all routes along the Robeson line were opened EXCEPT for NC 41 which remains closed due to a failure in the bridge approach in Robeson County.

NC 11 into Columbus County is closed due to flooding over NC 11 between Natmore Road and the Cape Fear River Bridge.  All other routes into Columbus County are clear.

As a result of above and flooding along the South / Black River, the entire eastern end of Bladen county north of the Cape Fear is inaccessible except via NC 53 E to/from White Lake.

All routes into Sampson and Pender counties remain closed.  We anticipate that NC 242 will be the first to open; however, there is a washout in Sampson County that must be repaired (awaiting water levels to fall).  In anticipation, we have signed a detour around the issues on NC 242 in Bladen County.

Once water levels fall, repair work will have to be done on the US 701 bridge approach.  Repairs will also have to made to NC 41 in Sampson county due to a road washout.
