CLOSINGS:
SR 1101 (Marsh Road)
SR 1101 (Marsh Road) remains closed at a location 1.1 miles west of NC 131 in order to replace a double crossline damaged during the hurricane. The road will should (hopefully) re-open tomorrow afternoon.
SR 1303 (Tobermory Road)
SR 1303 (Tobermory Road) is closed at NC 87 due to a failed crossline pipe / void under the road. Work is scheduled to begin 7/24 and should be complete by the end of the first week in August.
SR 1178 (Richardson Road)
SR 1178 (Richardson Road) is closed between NC 211-Business (Seaboard St) and the CSX Railroad in order to replace several crosslines and install one new crossline. This section of Richardson Road will be closed through next week.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
US 701 North
Beginning later this week (awaiting word from contractor for more specific date / time), we plan to close US 701 north at Colly Creek in order to perform a scour repair to the box culverts that were damaged during Hurricane Matthew. The location is just south of SR 1514 (Mote Road). While I am sure most local traffic will use Mote Road and NC 41 for access around the work site, the official detour route will be NC 41 and NC 210 in order to keep through trucks on routes with wider lane widths. Once construction begins, it should be completed within two weeks. As we get more specific information, we will post it on NCDOT’s Traveller Information Management System (TIMS) and will notify you via an update.
ELWELL FERRY:
The Elwell Ferry IS operating.
