Bladen and Sampson County law enforcement worked together on a felony larceny case. Sheriff Thornton from Sampson County stressed the importance of good relationships between different law enforcement agencies after an arrest was made last week.

On July 6, 2017, Investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office charged Donald Hardman, 63, W/M of 1804 Bull St. Garland, NC with 2 counts of Felony Larceny and 1 count of Misdemeanor Larceny. The charges were related to three larcenies that were reported to the Sampson County Sheriff Office between June 30 and July 1.

On June 30, a lawn mower and trailer were reported stolen from Broad St. in Roseboro and on July 1, a lawn mower was reported stolen from Main St. in Salemburg. Investigators assigned the case worked diligently to follow up on leads related to the case.

Through a joint effort with Bladen County and Sampson County Investigators, Hardman was identified and charges were obtained. On July 6, Investigators with Bladen County Sheriff’s Office took Hardman into custody at his residence of 1804 Bull St. Garland, NC which is inside Bladen County. Harden was placed under a $105,000 bond and being housed in Bladen County Detention Center.
