Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker has announced that he IS running for re-election as our county sheriff! There are some important thoughts about this, however, that you need to reflect on…..

For one thing, a sheriff’s function is to protect law-abiding citizens in the county which they represent. It most assuredly is NOT the task of an elected sheriff to put the lives of law enforcement personnel, or any citizen’s life, at risk by confusing discredited political ideologies with their sworn duty as a law enforcement professional. We see this confusion of responsibilities happening in real time all over the country, with police departments and sheriff’s departments enduring attacks from radical extremists, while at the same time suffering from feckless, incompetent leadership. In contrast, Bladen County has uniquely benefitted from the administration of Sheriff Jim McVicker!

Sheriff McVicker is, in fact, a stellar reminder of what true leadership looks like, and what it means to uphold the rule of law. It is a relief to hear someone like Sheriff McVicker engage with county residents with uncompromising honesty and candor in an effort to keep everyone informed about law enforcement efforts in the county, and it is a distinct relief to know that McVicker and his team pursue an around-the-clock, 24/7 strategy to keep Bladen County safe and free of criminal activity. It is no easy task, and Bladen County can NOT afford to lose the strong momentum that Sheriff McVicker and his dedicated team of law enforcement professionals have developed.

Now is NOT the time to interrupt Sheriff Jim McVicker’s strategic approach to eliminating criminal activity in Bladen County. His program is working. His strategy is working. Conservative, law-abiding citizens in Bladen County need to get behind Sheriff McVicker’s efforts toward reelection in 2022! The Bladen County Republican Party strongly endorses Sheriff Jim McVicker’s reelection, and urges all of the county’s citizens to recognize the importance of maintaining Sheriff McVicker’s strong and effective approach to law enforcement.
