Adyson Carroll batted 2-for-2 with a double and scored twice to lead the Rockets to a 7-1 victory over the Heat Thursday in Bladen Recreation 8-10 softball action. Maycee Kinlaw struck out 11 batters in her 5 innings in the circle for the Rockets.

Carroll ripped a double to center field in the Rockets 1st inning, and Kinlaw was hit by a pitch. Carroll and Kinlaw both scored as the Rockets grabbed a 2-0 lead.

Layla Crawford and Isabel Gardner were both hit by pitches in the Rockets 3rd inning. Carroll knocked in Crawford with a single, and Kinlaw beat out an infield hit that plated Gardner. Carroll and Kinlaw both darted home on wild pitches as the lead grew to 6-0.

Kaylee Fisher lined a 1-out single in the Heat 4th inning, and Avianna Whittington walloped a triple to right field that scored Fisher.

Crawford crushed a home run to left-center field and scored the final Rocket run in the 5th inning. Elizabeth Miller and Carley Rhodes smacked singles for the other Rocket hits.

Avianna Whittington batted 2-for-2 with the run-scoring triple for the Heat, and Rylee White connected for the other Heat hit. Fisher struck out 3 batters in her 3 innings of work in the circle. Avianna Whittington struck out one in her 1.2 innings of relief.
