Three Bladen County Recreation Basketball All-Stars begin their Sectional Basketball Tournaments Friday and Saturday. The Sectionals are double-elimination events and will be held at 3 different locations. Admission for all 3 locations is $5 for ages 13-and-up; $2 for 12-and-under.

The Bladen County 12U Boys will play East Duplin Friday night at 6:00. Eight teams are competing at the Campbell Center, 513 SE Railroad Street in Wallace. The championship game is slated for 3:30 Sunday.

12U Boys: Daveon Whittington, Travaughn Shipman, Domani Grimes, Bradley Willis, Jayden Ruffin, Markel Jacobs, Chase Moultrie, Tyler McFadden, Khalil Moore, Jamari Shaw, Damian Maynor, and Elijah DiCicco. Coach is Hakeem Swindell.

The Bladen County 12U Girls will play Ramseur 10:00 Saturday morning. Six teams are playing in the tourney at the Cannon Park Community Center, 210 Rattlesnake Trail in Pinehurst. The championship game is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday.

12U Girls: Kaydence Moretz, Jeniyah Whittington, Raquel Whittington, Tinsley Allen, Elizabeth Miller, Kylee Spaulding, Deanna Davis, Ny’ashia Lyles, Chyna Smith, Kaylee Fisher, Mollie Sasser, Keri Burgess. Coach is Dom Whittington.

The Bladen County 10U Boys received a 1st round bye and will play at 10:15 Saturday morning against the winner of Friday night’s Rocky Mount/Wendell game. Seven teams are participating in the tournament at Rocky Mount High School, 1400 Bethlehem Rd in Rocky Mount. The championship game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.

10U Boys: Larry Daniels III, Malakye Rogers, Jalin Ballard, Javion Johnson, Joel Sandoval-Rojas, Caleb Lewis, Ryker Dowless, Ethan Brooks, Saeed McElveen. Coach is Clint Allen.

There is no Sectional Tournament for 10U Girls. Bladen County will open play in the State 10U Girls Tournament on Friday, March 15th at 8 p.m. against Wendell. Six teams are competing in the state tournament at Beulaville Elementary School, 138 Lyman Rd, Beulaville.

10U Girls Team: Harper Allen, Zoe Hall, Holly McMillian, McKenzie Wright, Khloe Cambell, Mae Valentiner, Hyleigh Brackett, Knyla Thompson, Aubree McKeithan, Aubree Simmons. Coach is Jerry Campbell.
