The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday night in a news release that it has received multiple phone calls within the past week from concerned citizens throughout the county. Each person said they have received phone calls from individuals stating they are representing the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, specifically stating they are Sgt. Matt Long.
The caller is NOT Sgt. Matt Long, the Sheriff’s Office says. The call is coming from phone number 910-876-8426, but could potentially come from any number. The caller asks for you to come into the agency for your signature which will be used to complete a handwriting analysis.
These are scam calls, the Sheriff’s Office says, noting it would never call you to request your signature.
