Kayla Thompson of Clarkton will begin her 2023 pro golf schedule April 12-15 in Louisiana. She will participate in the L’Auberge Casino Resort Women’s Championship to be played in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The tournament is one of the bigger ladies’ events on the Women’s All Pro Tour with over 120 golfers already registered to play. First place will pay $10,000, second place will pay $4,900 and third place will pay $3,500.
Thompson competed in 12 WAPT events in 2022. She tied for 29th in the Kathy Whitworth Paris Championship played in Paris, Texas last September.
Thompson resides in Clarkton and is a graduate of West Bladen High School and UNC Wilmington.
