ELIZABETHTOWN –Sophmore Javant McDowell and senior Keshaun Davis keyed a 23-4 closing run that carried East Bladen to a 55-38 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over South Robeson Tuesday night.

McDowell pumped in a 14-footer to start the final period then flipped in a lay-up off of an in-bounds pass. Davis drove to the front of the rim for a basket and a 38-34 Eagle lead at the 5:35 mark.

“This was a good team win,” said Eagle Coach Kenzil McCall after his team’s second consecutive win. “The team has started listening to us and playing hard. I think maybe we were pressing too hard in some of those close games that got away.”
McDowell recorded a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds, and Davis finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds. Banks finished with 6 points and 4 steals. “Javant is playing really well,” said Coach McCall. “This was his second-straight double-double.”
