RED SPRINGS – Red Springs’ Red Devils blistered the nets with eleven 3-point baskets Monday night en route to a 72-49 Southeastern Athletic Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen.

Seniors Noah Chavis and Johnny Chavis bombed in four 3-point baskets each to lead the Red Devil long range barrage. Noah Chavis finished with 13 points, and Johnny Chavis followed with 12. Sophomore Kaedon Porter topped the Red Springs scoring with 18 points.

Junior Gary Parker and sophomore Landon Stanley shared scoring honors for the Knights with 10 points each. Senior Javonta Matthews tossed in 9 points, and senior Josiah Brown and freshman Chase Williams netted 6 points each.

Porter pumped in 10 points to spark a 23-9 1st period surge by the Red Devils. Noah Chavis and Johnny Chavis delivered a pair of 3-point baskets each in the 2nd quarter as the lead grew to 41-21.

Matthews sank 4 straight free throws, and Stanley pumped in a pair of baskets for West in the opening quarter. Parker connected on 4 of 4 free throws and added a basket, and Williams delivered a pair of buckets for the Knights in the 2nd period.

West Bladen, now 7-7 overall and 0-3 in SAC-7 play, will host St. Pauls Wednesday night.  Red Springs won Monday’s jayvee boys game 37-13.
