HOBBTON – Hobbton built a 2-0 halftime lead and edged West Bladen 3-2 on Monday night in the nonconference season opener for the Knights.

Senior Brandon Labra fired in a pair of second-half goals for the Knights. He also led the Knight defense with 5 steals.

Seniors Jonathan Dominguez and Hermindo Diaz Deleon finished with 3 steals each. Freshman Jordan Underwood followed with 2 steals, and senior Leonardo Vasquez had one steal.

Senior Nick Gibson had 5 saves in goal for the Knights.

“Overall the team played well,” said Coach Phillip Turnage. “It was a good first game and one that we can build on.”

The Knights will travel to Purnell Swett on Thursday for a 6 p.m. game.
