RED SPRINGS – Red Springs built a 5-1 halftime lead en route to a 6-2 Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ soccer victory over West Bladen Monday night.

Sophomore Jonah Bryan and junior Christopher Ramirez Labra fired in the Knight goals. Junior Kevyn De La Cruz Labra assisted on both West Bladen goals. Bryan had 2 shots on goal, and Ramirez Labra and sophomore Jonathan Ortiz-Hernandez also launched shots on goal.

Senior Daniel Gustafson anchored the Knight defense with a team-high 9 steals. Junior Brady Durden racked up 7 steals, and senior Shaun “Walker” Barkley finished with 6 steals. Junior Aiden Russ, Bryan, junior Bryant Ortiz-Aguilar, sophomore Dylan Hernandez and freshman Alejandro Lopez Sandoval had 3 steals each.

Senior Oswaldo Gonzalez-Lopez recorded 2 saves for in goal for West Bladen, and junior Cade Allen had 1 save.

West Bladen, now 0-4 in the SAC-6 and 4-13 overall, will travel to Clinton Wednesday night.
