The Bladen County Detention Center and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office will suspend visitation and non criminal fingerprinting at our facility until further notice to minimize the health risk from the spread of the coronavirus.

“We do not have any cases of the coronavirus in our jail, said Sheriff Jim McVicker, but we feel this is neceassary for the safety of our employees and inmates”.  “We made this decision based on the recommendations of health officials and are trying to stop the spread of the virus.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause to anyone affected by this recommendation, but feel this is in the best interest of everyone involved”, said Sheriff McVicker.

Attorney\ client visitation and pastoral visitation will be allowed with brief screenings to include temperature check before admission to the facility.

Any business that can be conducted by telephone is encourage and citizens are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (910) 862-6960.  Concealed handgun applications and pistol applications can be emailed to the customer.  We are in the process of having those applications put on our website.
