ELIZABETHTOWN – Whiteville’s jayvees exploded for 12 runs in the 3rd inning and defeated East Bladen 18-1 Friday in Waccamaw Conference JV baseball action.

The Eagle jayvees finished league play with a 6-2-2 record and 7-3-3 overall. Whiteville improved to 7-0 in Waccamaw play and 8-2 overall.

Zach Sholar led off the Eagle 1st inning with a single but was forced out at 2nd base by Torrean Cogdell. Colton Daly hammered a double to centerfield that drove in Cogdell with the only East Bladen run. Isaiah Lee, Daly and Sholar had the only hits for East Bladen.

Braylon Cromartie started on the mound for the Eagles and pitched 2.2 innings allowing 10 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. Jaxon Hair worked 0.1 innings of relief allowing 6 runs – 1 earned – on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 1. Easton Bostic pitched the final 2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 1.

Camden Butler pitched all 5 innings for the Wolfpack allowing a run on 3 hits while striking out 7. Collin Hooks batted 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Ty Mishue was 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs and a run scored. Grayson Canady finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Cody Rice was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Corey Faison batted 2-for-2 with a double, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Eli Hill was 2-for-2 with 3 runs scored.
