Caty McLaurin was named the MVP for her Hot Shots 2012 10U softball team for the Summer World Series. After every tournament, the team parents vote on a player to receive the MVP award based on the player that put in the extra effort and attitude leading up to the tournament.

“This girl has played the most positions on this team,” said Coach Mike Montgomery. “Her main position is 3rd base, but she is strong at 1st base, catcher, pitcher and left field. She works hard! Her batting average and fielding is proof!”

Caty is the daughter of Daniel and Trista McLaurin of Elizabethtown. The Hot Shots 2012 team is based in Hope Mills.
