A Staff Report

Every year, during the third week of September, we take a moment to recognize and appreciate the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our financial systems running smoothly. National Finance and Accounting Appreciation Week is a time to acknowledge the often unsung heroes in finance offices across the country. This year, we extend our gratitude to the Bladen County Finance Office and the outstanding team that keeps the financial engine of Bladen County running seamlessly.

The Bladen County Finance Office is the heart of financial operations for the county, ensuring that funds are allocated, budgets are balanced, and financial records are kept accurate. At the helm of this vital department is Lisa C. Coleman, Finance Officer, who provides leadership and expertise to the team. Joining her in this mission are Janice H. Hayes, Deputy Finance Officer, and Bobbie J. Clark, Payroll Specialist, who bring their invaluable knowledge and skills to the table.

Behind every successful finance office is a team of dedicated professionals, and Bladen County is no exception. Payton Blaney, NC Lead Accounting Tech, Ashley T Norris, Accounting Tech II, and Tina D. Clark, Auditing/Accounting Tech II, are the backbone of this operation. They work diligently to ensure that financial transactions are accurately recorded, budgets are meticulously managed, and the county’s financial health remains robust.

Any organization’s finance and accounting department plays a crucial role in its overall success. These professionals manage budgets, track expenditures, and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently. Their work not only safeguards the organization’s financial stability but also contributes to its growth and development.

In the case of Bladen County, the Finance Office’s efforts are essential for supporting vital community services such as education, healthcare, public safety, and infrastructure development. Without their expertise and dedication, these critical services would be at risk.

Finance and accounting professionals often face complex challenges, especially in the public sector. They must navigate changing regulations, evolving financial reporting standards, and the constant pressure to do more with limited resources. Despite these challenges, the Bladen County Finance Office team remains resolute in its commitment to excellence.

Their dedication is particularly evident during times of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The team worked tirelessly to manage emergency funding, ensure the continuity of essential services, and provide much-needed financial support to the community.

National Finance and Accounting Appreciation Week gives us the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude to the Bladen County Finance Office and all finance and accounting professionals nationwide. Their unwavering dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to financial integrity are the cornerstones of a thriving community.

We encourage everyone to take a moment next week to thank the financial professionals in your life. Whether they work in the public or private sector, their contributions are invaluable. A simple thank you can go a long way in recognizing the tireless efforts of these individuals who often work diligently behind the scenes.

As National Finance and Accounting Appreciation Week approaches, let us all come together to celebrate and honor the hardworking individuals who keep our financial systems running smoothly. To Lisa C. Coleman, Janice H. Hayes, Bobbie J. Clark, Payton Blaney, Ashley T Norris, and Tina D. Clark at the Bladen County Finance Office, we extend a heartfelt thank you for your dedication to the financial well-being of our community. Your contributions do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate all that you do for Bladen County!
