Cape Fear Valley announced Nurses Week is May 6-May 12.
Ashley T. Dowless, Director of Bladen County Hospital Foundation & Public Relations, stated, “For Nurses Week, we’d like to feature some of our amazing nurses. Today’s nurse’s Spotlight: Stacey Howell, RN III, CEN
Stacey Howell, RN III, CEN earned her Associates Degree in Nursing at Bladen Community College in May 2014. The following month she started her nursing career at Cape Fear Valley Bladen County Hospital on the medical surgical floor but soon after decided to transfer to the emergency department. In June of this year, she will have 7 years of emergency nursing experience caring for the community of Bladen. Prior to her career in nursing, she worked as an emergency medical technician with Bladen County Emergency Services.
In Feb 2019, Stacey earned her certification in emergency nursing and has since completed the Clinical Ladder III advancement program for nurses at Cape Fear Valley. The Clinical Ladder Program provides an advanced framework to recognize and retain nurses who provide direct clinical care and who are involved in promoting nursing practice at Cape Fear Valley Health by encouraging professional growth, advancing clinical expertise, and contributing to the health of the community.
Participation in this program is voluntary and not an expectation of every registered nurse. She is also a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and has current certifications in Trauma, Advanced Life Support, Stroke, and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. She is currently working towards her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
While Stacey’s main passion is nursing, on her days off she enjoys traveling, hiking, exercising, spoiling her animals, and spending time with her family.
