The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce announced the winner of the Second annual Window Decorating Contest on Wednesday. Chamber Executive Director Dawn Maynard said the winner was Fisher’s Ladies Shop.
Receiving second place was Leinwand’s Men’s and third place was Leinwand’s Ladies.
Maynard said the Chamber awarded ribbons for each place to the businesses and included a large gift basket filled with local goodies from Bladen County and donated by Whimsical Florist to the first place winner.
Karen Suggs, owner of Fisher’s Ladies Shop said the window displays were called Shopping good in the Neighborhood and depicted a scene of Mannequins in front of a house and a wagon filled presents from different businesses in Elizabethtown promoting Shop Small Business. The second window consisted of an elegant gold window featuring a a different take on a mannequin Christmas tree. Suggs said the tree featured mannequin arms that are adorned with gold jewelry bracelets and shoes.
Maynard said all of the the contestants were judged on creativity, theme, title, a brief narrative of the window and how it “WOWS” both day and night in appearance.
