The Census counts everyone in the country every 10 years to calculate the federal and state funding your community will receive. This week residents in Bladen County reported receiving the 2020 Census in their mailboxes.

This funding goes towards things like the public schools, Medicare, public health, roads, and so much more, according to the Bladen County Census Committee. The Census information is also used to draw district lines and determine the number of seats North Carolina will have in the House of Representatives. It’s so important that every single person is counted ONCE, ONLY ONCE, AND IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

Beginning March 12, the U.S. Census Bureau started mailing the surveys. You will be able to respond online, by phone or by mail.  It will be 10 simple questions and take only 10 minutes of time to shape the future of Bladen County for the next decade!
