CANCELLATIONS

The Mother County Genealogical Society meeting is canceled with no plans for rescheduling. Phone messages will likely not be checked on a daily basis.   Email inquiries may be sent to:  bladenborohistoricalsociety@gmail.com 

Bladen County Board of Education meeting postponed. The monthly board of education meeting scheduled for this evening, Monday, April 6, has been postponed until further notice, according to Valerie F. Newton, Public Relations & Information Officer with Bladen County Schools.

Town of Elizabethtown Council Meeting for April cancelled. Agenda moved to May’s meeting.

The Bladen County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The 28th annual Old Fashion Planter’s Day scheduled March 27-28 in Garland has been canceled.

Trinity UMC will be closed through Saturday, March 28th.  Pending any other word, the church will reopen Sunday morning, March 29th, for worship services and Sunday school.

Scottish Heritage Day scheduled March 28 at Moores Creek National Battlefield has been cancelled.

Bladen County schools have canceled classes through at least March 30 under governor’s executive order.

Dr. Lisa Lee Bryan, President of the Kiwanis Club of Elizabethtown announced the civic group is cancelling their meetings for March.

The Bladen County Educational Foundation, a non-profit corporation organized and existing to provide financial help for the public schools and educators of Bladen County,  will not be having its regular monthly meeting in March.

The LAKE Church of White Lake will not be having formal worship services through the end of March.  Messages will be posted on LAKE Church FB page & www.lakechurchnc.com

The annual Bladenboro Spring Fling date was set for Saturday, April 4, but according to committee chair, Penny Walters, the event has been canceled.

White Lake Spring Triathlons scheduled April 25-26 have been canceled.

The Kelly Spring Fest scheduled April 26 at Kelly Ball Field has been canceled.

All Bladen County Public Library events (including preschool story time) are canceled until further notice.

Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church services has canceled Wednesday Night Suppers.

POSTPONEMENTS

White Lake Water Festival scheduled for the third weekend in May has been postponed. The festival has been rescheduled to Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22,

Bladen We Care Gala scheduled Friday, March 27 has been postponed.

The 4th annual Bladen County Aim For A Cure ALS Archery Shoot scheduled April 4 has been postponed. Event organizers plan to reschedule the event at Allen Brothers Hunting Preserve for a later date.

A free baseball and softball camp sponsored by Woodmen of the World Insurance scheduled April 4 has been postponed. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

The Bladen County Relay for Life event scheduled April 25 has been postponed

The Bladenboro Rotary Golf Tournament scheduled May 7 has been postponed until Oct. 8.

The Bladen We Care golf tournament will be held on September 17, instead of in April.

The Bladen County Detention Center and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office has suspended visitation and non-criminal fingerprinting at our facility until further notice to minimize the health risk from the spread of the coronavirus.

Dublin First Baptist Church’s East Festival will be postponed at this time. The new date will be announced when it becomes avaliable.

Bladen GOP 2020 Convention has been postponed until further notice.

PUBLIC NOTICES

Bladen Community College has transitioned to online instruction for all classes for the remainder of the spring semester. There will be no in-person classes.

Bladenboro Town Hall is open, but not allowing the public to enter the building. People can use the drop box or the drive through, according to Bladenboro Mayor Rufus Duckworth.

Elizabethtown Town Hall is open, but not allowing the public to enter the building.

White Lake Town Hall is open, but not allowing the public to enter the building.

Clarkton Town Hall is open, but not allowing the public to enter the building.

Dublin Town Hall is open, but not allowing the public to enter the building.

SUSPENSIONS

The N.C. High School Athletic Association suspends all athletic contests through April 6.
