RED SPRINGS – West Bladen junior Demon’tre Love placed 2nd for the 3rd consecutive week Wednesday in the Southeastern Athletic Conference cross country meet at Red Springs High.
Love finished the 5000 meter course in 19 minutes, 12.07 seconds. Clinton senior Cristian Ortiz (17:53.21) won the race. Knight sophomore Dylan Taylor captured 16th place with a time of 23:48.14.
Other Knight finishers were: freshman Bradley Yandle, 23rd place (25:32.18); sophomore Raul Morales, 29th place (27:19.19); junior Antuan Martinez-Sanchez, 34th place (28:33.0).
Two Lady Knights competed in the girls’ race: senior Sarah Dillard, 21st place (34:13.00); senior Adairis Jimenez, 22nd place (34:13.17). Midway senior Hailey Happel won the girls race (25:07.15).
