ELIZABETHTOWN – Ishaq Algozy and Andrio Garcia both recorded ‘Hat Tricks’ of 3 goals or more Wednesday as Elizabethtown rolled past Whiteville Central 9-0 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer action.

Algozy bombarded the nets scoring 4 of the Cougars first 5 goals in the game. Garcia scored the 3rd goal of the game then knocked in a rebound as Elizabethtown raced to a 7-0 halftime lead.

Johnny “Trey” Wilson banged in the final Cougar goal of the 1st half. Early in the 2nd half, Wilson raced to the goal and fired in his 2nd goal of the game to boost the margin to 8-0. Garcia boomed in a shot from midfield that deflected off the leaping keeper’s hands and into the net to complete his ‘Hat Trick’. It also ended the game on the mercy rule.

Fox Sutton and DeVance Tatum combined to record the shutout in goal for Elizabethtown. Tatum made a point-blank save on a Whiteville striker in the 2nd half.

Coach Larry Williams’ Cougars improved to 3-1 and will host Tabor City Tuesday.
