LELAND –Bladenboro swept both games of a Dixie Belles doubleheader Sunday defeating the West Lady Cardinals 3-1 in the opener then posting a 7-1 victory over the West Lady Tide in the nightcap. Bladenboro raised their record to 6-0 on the season.

Allison Hickman pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 10 batters in 5 innings in the opener. Hickman doubled and scored a run to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Addison Wilcox and Bristol Allen smacked singles. Wilcox and Chloe Walters scored runs, and Wilcox drove in a run.
Hickman drew a lead-off walk in the 1st inning and raced home when Wilcox raked a hit past shortstop. Wilcox later scored on a passed ball for a 2-0 Bladenboro lead.
Chloe Walters walked to start the Bladenboro 2nd inning, stole 2nd base and came around to score on a pair of passed balls.
A single and a triple plated the Cardinals run in the 5th inning.

Hadley Dove pitched a 3-hitter and struck out 5 batters in the 2nd game. The only Lady Tide run was unearned.
Brenna Hester batted 2-for-3 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored to lead the winners at the plate. Addison Wilcox tripled, and Allison Hickman, Anna Walters, Alyssia Singletary and Hailli Andrews added a single each.
Wilcox, Alyssia Singletary and Andrews drove in 1 run each. Hickman, Wilcox, Anna Walters, Kristen Singletary and Andrews scored 1 run each.
Hester ripped a single to left in the 1st inning and circled the bases on a trio of passed balls. Andrews belted a single to right to start the Bladenboro 3rd inning. Andrews stole 2nd base, and advanced on a passed ball. Hickman pulled a single to the left side, and both Andrews and Hickman dashed home when Hester smoked a single to right. Wilcox drilled a triple to centerfield that scored Hester, and Wilcox scooted home on a passed ball for a 5-0 lead.
Anna Walters led off the Bladenboro 4th inning with a single, and Kristen Singletary walked. Alyssia Singletary cracked a single that scored Anna Walters and sent Kristen Singletary to 3rd base. Andrews’ fielder’s choice scored Kristen Singletary for a 7-0 lead.
A hit batter, a walk and a single produced a Lady Tide run in the 5th inning.
