LELAND – Bladenboro’s Dixie Belles softball team opened their season Sunday by sweeping a pair of games from North Brunswick teams – 14-3 over the North Lady Stingers then 18-1 over the North Lady Dodgers.
Bladenboro will travel to Lumberton Monday, April 15 for a 7:30 game.

Allison Hickman pitched a no-hitter and struck out 14 batters in the opening game. Hadley Dove walked and scored a run in the 2nd inning then the winners blew the game open with 9 runs in the 3rd inning.
Bristol Allen knocked in 2 runs with a single for Bladenboro, and teammates Hickman, Maycee Kinlaw, Addison Wilcox and Dove added 1 hit each. Wilcox and Kinlaw drove in 1 run each.
Dove scored 3 Bladenboro runs, and Hickman, Adyson Carroll and Haili Andrews scored 2 runs each. Kinlaw, Wilcox, Allen, Anna Walters and Keeleigh Atkinson scored 1 run each.

Maycee Kinlaw pitched a 5-hitter and struck out 8, and the Bladenboro hitters pounded out 19 hits in an 18-1 victory over the North Lady Dodgers.
Addison Wilcox, Bristol Allen, Hadley Dove, Anna Walters and Kristen Singletary connected for singles to key a 5-run 1st inning for Bladenboro. Allison Hickman and Kinlaw belted singles to ignite a 4-run 2nd inning for the winners, and Dove ripped a run-scoring double.
Bladenboro exploded for 9 more runs in the 3rd inning. Anna Walters, Alyssia Singletary and Hickman smacked singles, before Kinlaw drilled a triple to center field. Wilcox blasted a 2-run inside-the-park home run to center field. Allen, Dove, Adyson Carroll, Chloe Walters, Anna Walters and Kristen Singletary added singles in the inning.
Dove and Anna Walters both batted 3-for-3 to lead the winners at the plate. Dove doubled, scored twice and drove in a run. Anna Walters had 2 runs batted in and a run scored. Kinlaw finished 2-for-2 with a triple, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Hickman batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.
Wilcox slugged the home run and finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Allen batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Kristen Singletary finished 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Carroll, Chloe Walters and Alyssia Singletary added 1 hit each. Carroll had 2 RBIs, and Alyssia Singletary had an RBI. Carroll, Chloe Walters, Alyssia Singletary and Keeleigh Atkinson scored runs.
