DUBLIN – A 6-run last-inning Tar Heel rally fell short, and Bladenboro claimed a 10-7 victory in Dixie Ponytail Softball action.

Bladenboro led 10-1, but Tar Heel’s Laikyn Rogerson reached base on an error, and Ryleigh and Breelyn Peed cracked singles to begin the home half of the 4th inning. Jayden, Abby Dicicco and Shelby drew walks, Brissa was hit by a pitch, and Hayleigh singled. Rogerson, Ryleigh, Peed, Jayden, Brissa and Hayleigh all scored to trim the final margin to 10-7.

A 7-run 2nd-inning propelled Bladenboro to an early 7-0 lead. Kynzlee Wood was hit by a pitch, and Bella Beard and Chloe Walters were hit by pitches. Camryn Wood hammered a double, and Bristol Allen belted a single.

Kristen Singletary and Kaydence Moretz drew walks, Keeleigh Atkinson and Kylee Davenport smacked singles. Kynzlee Wood, Beard, Chloe Walters, Camryn Wood, Allen, Singletary and Moretz all scored runs.

Jayden slammed a triple and scored a Tar Heel run when Brissa laced a single in the home half of the 2nd.

Hadley Dove and Anna Claire Walters drew walks in the Bladenboro 3rd inning, and Kynzlee Wood knocked them in with a single that grew the lead to 9-1. Allen walloped a home run in the Bladenboro 4th inning to extend the lead to 10-1. Allen finished 2-2 at the plate.

Maycee Kinlaw struck out 9 batters, gave up 5 hits and walked 6 batters to pick up the win for Bladenboro. Rogerson and Ryleigh combined to strike out 4 batters for Tar Heel.
