DUBLIN – Tar Heel defeated Bladenboro 8-5 Tuesday night in Dixie Ponytails softball action.
Hadley Dove and Maycee Kinlaw both walked and scored runs in the 1st inning as Bladenboro took a 2-0 lead.
Tar Heel answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Ryleigh and Breelyn slammed doubles, Jayden singled and Brissa and Kenley reached base on errors. All five of them scored as Tar Heel went up 5-2.
Kynzlee Wood walked, and Chloe Walters reached base on an error in the Bladenboro 2nd inning and both of them scored to trim the lead to 5-4.
Tar Heel stretched their lead to 8-4 in the 3rd inning. Ryleigh homered, and Breelyn hammered a double. Jayden walloped a triple, and all 3 of them scored.
Kinlaw belted a single and scored the final Bladenboro run in the 4th inning. In her 3 innings in the circle, Kinlaw struck out 8 batters.
