DUBLIN – West Bladen’s Knights opened their Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball season Monday night by sweeping both games of a double-header from St. Pauls by scores of 5-3 and 8-6.

The Knights jumped in front with a 3-run first inning as Dalton Pait walked and Logan West smacked a single. Scott Bowen hammered a double that scored Pait and West. Walks and wild pitches produced the final 2 West Bladen runs.

Trey Storms pitched all 5 innings to pick up the win for the Knights. Jonathan Robinson also belted a single for West Bladen.

After St. Pauls took a 2-0 lead in the nightcap, the Knights answered with a 4-run second inning for a 4-2 lead. The lead grew to 8-2 in the fourth when Jake Butler crushed a bases-loaded triple over the centerfielder’s head.

Bowen beat out a pair of infield hits to lead the Knight hitters. West and Storms connected for one hit each in the second game.

Colby White pitched 4.1 innings to get the win in the nightcap. Bowen relieved in the fifth inning and retired the final two batters to pick up the save.
The Knights travel to Lumberton Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. double-header.
