RIEGELWOOD –Noah Taylor ripped a single to left field and circled the bases with the winning run as Bladen County rallied for a 12-11 extra-inning victory over Columbus County Saturday in the Dixie Youth Baseball District 2 AA (Coach Pitch) Tournament.

The Bladen team advanced to another game later Saturday, but was eliminated 13-3 by South Columbus.

Bladen County was tied 9-9 after the regulation 6 innings, and Columbus County scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th to go up 11-9. Lawson Walters led off the Bladen 7th with a single, and Memphis Smith reached base. One out later Noah Taylor cracked his game-winning hit. Walters, Memphis Smith and Noah Taylor all scored in the inning.

Trailing 9-4 Bladen County rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th to knot the score 9-9. Memphis Smith raked a single past 3rd base, and L. C. Council walloped a triple. Boyce Allen and Tristian Taylor belted singles, Waylon Hickman reached base. Ny Pryor, Baylyn Brisson and Waylon Smith swatted singles. Memphis Smith, Council, Allen, Tristian Taylor and Hickman all scored.

Columbus County grabbed an early 2-0 lead, but Bladen answered in the 2nd. Noah Taylor hammered a triple, Allen laced a single, and Tristian Taylor smashed a double. Noah Taylor scored to slice the lead to 2-1.

Columbus pushed their lead to 4-1, but Waylon Smith blasted a triple, and Memphis Smith knocked him in with a single to whittle the lead to 4-2.

The Columbus lead grew to 6-2 in the 4th, but Bladen fought back with 2 runs in the home half of the inning. Allen slapped a 1-out single, and Tristian Taylor and Hickman both reached base. Allen and Tristian Taylor both scored to trim the margin to 6-4.

Allen batted 3-for-3 and scored twice to lead the Bladen hitters. Memphis Smith finished 3-for-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored. Tristian Taylor batted 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Waylon Smith turned in a 2-4 game with a triple and a run scored.

Noah Taylor batted 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored. Walters finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Council drilled the triple and scored a run. Hickman, Pryor and Brisson collected 1 hit each. Hickman scored a run.
