CLARKTON –Elizabethtown rallied with 4 runs in the 4th inning and edged Bladen County 8-7 Monday night in the semifinals of the Dixie Youth Baseball District 2 Majors Supplemental Tournament.

Elizabethtown will play Whiteville in the championship game Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Tyler McFadden raked a single past 3rd base to start the winning rally. Lyrik Lawson smashed a single, and Cooper Sasser walked. Carter Sasser’s fielder’s choice forced McFadden at the plate. Lawson stole home, before Daveon Whittington smoked a double to center field that scored Cooper Sasser and Carter Sasser with the tying and go-ahead runs. Khalil Moore reached on an error that scored Whittington and put Elizabethtown up 8-6.

Cooper Mills led off the Bladen 4th with a single, and Jeremiah Bryan and Bryson Allen drew walks. Mills scored to trim the deficit to 8-7, but the other 2 runners were left on base.

Bladen County jumped ahead with a 3-run 1st inning. Rylan Bordeaux walked, Joseph Burney smacked a single, and Aidan Thompson blasted a 3-run home run over the left field fence.

Elizabethtown bounced back with 2 runs in the 2nd. J.J. High, Jr. and Damion Maynor walloped back-to-back triples, and Sawyer Barbour reached base on an error. Both High and Maynor scored runs.

Elizabethtown vaulted in front 4-3 with 2 runs in the 3rd. Khalil Moore smashed a single, and Hayes Clifton slammed a triple to right. Both Moore and Clifton scored.

Bladen answered with 3 runs in their half of the 3rd. Allondel Smith walked, Rylan Bordeaux lined a single, and Zee Pone hammered a double. Smith, Bordeaux and Pone all scored to put Bladen up 6-4.

High, Maynor and Clifton all tripled and scored runs for Elizabethtown. Moore and Lawson both singled and scored runs. Whittington smashed the 2-run double and scored. McFadden, Cooper Sasser and Carter Sasser also scored runs.

Thompson crushed the 3-run homer to lead the Bladen attack. Pone doubled and scored, and Rylan Bordeaux, Burney, Mills and Jamel McKiver contributed 1 hit each. Bordeaux, Burney, Mills and Smith all scored runs.

Maynor pitched 3.2 innings for Elizabethtown and allowed 7 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out 8. Moore struck out 1 and walked 1 in his 0.1 innings of relief.

Burney started and pitched 1.2 innings for Bladen and struck out 4 batters. Pone worked 2 innings of relief and struck out 4, and Thompson came on to strike out the last batter in the 4th inning.
