KANSAS CITY, Mo. -East Bladen was one of 36 girls soccer teams across the country to receive the Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award from the United Soccer Coaches Association.

The Lady Eagles were 1 of 7 teams nationally to receive the Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Gold Award. Teams are honored at the gold (1-10%), silver (11-30%) and bronze (30-50%) levels. The levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players and coaches divided by the team’s total number of games played.

In a press release, the USCA noted that these honored teams exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game. Seven teams nationally were awarded the Platinum Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award for having not received a single yellow or red card.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles were honored for the 2nd consecutive season. They received a silver award in 2022.
