ELIZABETHTOWN – Former East Bladen star Lacey Suggs will have her #12 jersey retired Tuesday night after the Lady Eagles home game with rival West Bladen.

In her 4-year career on the East Bladen varsity, Suggs led the Lady Eagles to a 106-11 record and 3 Conference Championships. She scored 2,166 points in her high school career and ranks as the 3rd all-time leading scorer in East Bladen history and is 33rd on the NCHSAA career scoring list. Suggs also grabbed 829 rebounds during her Lady Eagle career.

Suggs was named Conference Player of the Year 3 times at East Bladen and received All-State honors 3 years in a row.

After high school Suggs walked on at UNC-Wilmington and was awarded a scholarship during her sophomore year by Coach Karen Barefoot. At UNC-W Suggs scored over 1,000 points and is the 14th all-time leading scorer in Lady Seahawk history.

She was voted team captain for 3 years in a row by her teammates and was named the Colonial Athletic Association Scholar Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of her senior year.

Suggs is the daughter of Mike and Karen Suggs of White Lake.
