The East Bladen and West Bladen girls’ soccer teams qualified for the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2-A playoffs that are scheduled to begin Monday.

East Bladen is seeded No. 13 in the 32-team East bracket and will host No. 20 Princeton. West Bladen is the No. 32 seeded and will travel to No. 1 seed Clinton.

West Bladen is 7-13 and finished fourth in the Southeastern Athletic Conference. The Knights were on the playoff bubble for the past several weeks, but a 4-0 non-conference win against Pender on Tuesday was enough to move them into the final playoff spot.

Clinton won the Southeastern Conference championship with a perfect 10-0 record. The Dark Horses are 19-0-2 overall and beat West Bladen twice during the season by identical 9-0 scores.

East Bladen finished second in the Southeastern Athletic Conference with its only losses coming against Clinton. The Eagles are 13-3-1 overall and have won eight straight games.

Princeton was fourth in the Neuse Six Conference and is 9-9-1 overall.

The teams each played Midway twice. Princeton defeated the Raiders 6-1 and 6-2 early in the season. East Bladen edged Midway in a pair of 1-0 games in mid-March.

The winner of the East Bladen-Princeton game will play the winner between No. 4 North Johnston and No. 29 Eastern Wayne on May 18.

The Clinton-West Bladen winner will play the winner between No. 16 Research Triangle and No. 17 East Duplin also on May 18.
