RED SPRINGS – East Bladen sophomore Aaron Smith won the Three Rivers Conference cross-country meet Wednesday covering the 5,000 meter course in a time of 19 minutes and 9 seconds.
Smith finished 24 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Caleb Henderson of St. Pauls. Smith’s East Bladen teammate, Efren Vargas posted a time of 23:42 to take eleventh place.
Other East Bladen finishers included: 12th place Aaron Todd 24:26; 17th place Damondta Smith 26:21; 31st place Antonio Ferguson 33:16.
Red Springs’ Keira Bryant won the girls meet with a time of 27:08. Whiteville’s Fatima Reyes was second with a time of 27:44.
Junior Vena Metz led the East Bladen girls with a time of 34:46 that was good enough for tenth place. Her senior teammate Erica McKoy was eleventh with a time of 34:55. East Bladen senior Kabara Moore finished 22nd with a time of 44:02.
