FAIRMONT – East Bladen’s Jacob Knuth won Wednesday’s Southeastern Athletic Conference boys cross-country meet. Knuth’s winning time was 19 minutes, 36 seconds.

Knuth (pictured above) finished 8 seconds ahead of Clinton’s Christian Ortiz. St. Pauls’ Samuel Hernandez was 3rd, and Red Springs’ Joshua McMillian edged West Bladen’s Demon’tre Love by 2 seconds for 4th place.

East Bladen’s Johnny Alvarado posted a 10th place finish with a time of 23 minutes, 10 seconds. Other East Bladen runners were: Ivan Alverado, 11th place (24:16); Conner Padrick, 17th place (25:25); Jacob Caulder, 40th place (42.33).

Red Springs won the boys’ team event with 37 points followed by Clinton with 65 points and St. Pauls with 67 points. East Bladen placed 4th with 74 points.

East Bladen’s Heidi Reboller placed 10th in the girls meet with a time of 30 minutes, 56 seconds. Clinton’s Evan Gillespie won the girls race with a time of 26 minutes, 53 seconds that was 11 seconds ahead of Red Springs’ Dayanara Tellez.

Midway won the girls event with 25 points. The Lady Raiders placed runners in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th place slots. West Bladen was 2nd with 75 points.
