RUSTON, LA – The Elizabethtown All-Stars will open the 2019 Dixie Youth Baseball World Series Saturday night against the Alabama state champions from Montgomery at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Elizabethtown, the North Carolina State champs, rolled through district and state tournament play with a 12-1 record, losing their second game in the state tourney then reeling off six straight wins to claim the title.
The AUM (Auburn University Montgomery) All-Stars edged Dothan American 4-3 on a walk-off single in the second championship game of the Alabama state tournament after Dothan had forced the second game with a 5-1 win in the first championship game.
The DYB World Series games will be streamed live by the HiCast Sports Mobile App in conjunction with JockJive Sports. HiCast is advertising a $12.99 charge for a 7-day pass. There are reports that the broadcast may be free at Dixie Youth Baseball, but that has not been confirmed.
