An Elizabethtown woman, whose husband was charged last week with sexual offenses involving children, was charged Tuesday in connection to the case, Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker said.
Selena Hester, 33, of the 300 block of Governors Estate Drive, was charged with two counts of felony child abuse/sexual act, according to McVicker. She is in Bladen County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000
Last week, Ryan Jacobs Hester, 25, was charged with one count of statutory rape of a 13- 14- or 15-year-old and two counts of first degree statutory sex offense on a child as well as other charges, McVicker said. His bail was set at $800,000.
The charges stem from an investigation that began Jan. 19 when two victims reported the allegations to a school official, McVicker said. The case remains under investigation.
