Bernard Goins, Vice-President of the Farmers Union Parade Committee, proudly announces the much awaited 24th annual Farmers Union Springfest Parade 2024. Set to take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the vibrant communities of Columbus and Bladen counties, this parade marks a cherished tradition spanning over two decades, drawing an anticipated attendance of 300-500 enthusiastic participants and spectators alike.

With this year’s theme, “Celebrating Unity in the Community,” the parade aims to foster a sense of togetherness among residents and visitors alike. The Farmers Union Parade Committee extends a warm invitation to local churches and community organizations to participate actively in the festivities. Whether through creatively decorated floats, showcasing farm equipment, or specialty vehicles adorned with community pride, every contribution adds to the colorful tapestry of unity.

Participants are encouraged to gather for the lineup at 10:00 AM on April 27, at the designated location: 5862 Hallsboro N, Clarkton, NC 28433. The parade procession will commence promptly at 11:00 AM, weaving its way through the heart of the Farmers Union community, spreading joy and camaraderie along its path.

This year’s parade holds special significance with the esteemed presence of Ms. Elizabeth Nicole Spaulding, a noted local artist and educator, as the Grand Marshal. Additionally, the 2024 Mr. and Mrs. Farmers Union, Mr. Felton Campbell, and his wife, Mrs. Judy Campbell, will grace the event, embodying the spirit of community leadership and involvement.

Following the parade’s conclusion, the festivities will continue at the Elra and Gertrude Spaulding Community Park, located at 819 Farmers Union Road, Clarkton, NC 28433. Here, attendees of all ages can revel in entertainment and activities designed to strengthen community bonds further and create lasting memories.

Vending opportunities are available for those wishing to showcase their culinary delights or commercial wares. Food vendors, particularly non-profit groups, are invited to reserve spaces at $100, while commercial item vendors can secure spots for $25. Informational tables are provided free of charge, offering a platform for community engagement and awareness.
