Chadbourn Man Charged with Missing Mother’s Murder


Many in Bladen County have been searching for the beloved mother of two, Jacqueline Elaine “Lynn” Landreth, who went missing from Clarkton on February 8, 2021. Investigators with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office were directed to an area in Columbus County by information received in the missing person’s investigation of “Lynn” Landreth.

Today, Bladen County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Wednesday afternoon a body of a white female was located off of Klondyke Road near Chadbourn in Columbus County.

According to the Sheriff’s report, an autopsy is being performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh today to verify the cause of death and to identify the body positively.

Foul play is suspected in the death. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office at 910-642-6551.

Landreth was last seen driving a white, GMC Sierra extended cab truck with a “duck” sticker in the back class. She is a white, female with blond hair and blue eyes.
