Midway clinched fourth place in the Four County Conference Tuesday night with a 55-31 victory over visiting West Bladen.

Taylor Faircloth knocked down a pair of first period 3-point shots as the Lady Raiders grabbed a 14-6 lead. Baskets by juniors Akira Grimes and Laikyn Pait and a pair of free throws by freshman Erika McKoy accounted for the Lady Knight points.

Junior Logan Autry nailed a 3-point shot in the second quarter for West, and Pait sank 3 free thows. Sophmore Patience Parker and junior Jerena Purdie threw in baskets in the period, but Midway maintained a 25-16 halftime lead.

Leah Williams pumped in 9 of her game-high 17 points for Midway in the third quarter as the Lady Raiders grew their lead to 43-28. Faircloth tallied 7 of her 16 points in the period.

Pait connected for 2 baskets in the third quarter for West, and Autry, Grimes and junior Jenna Dove added one basket each.

Pait led the West Bladen scoring with 11 points. Autry followed with 5 points, and McKoy and Grimes totaled 4 points each.

West Bladen, now 5-8 in the league and 7-15 overall, will travel to rival East Bladen Thursday night.
