WHITEVILLE – Junior Trinity Smith poured in 19 of her game-high 27 points in the second half to lead Whiteville to a 62-59 victory over East Bladen Saturday in the Three Rivers Conference girls basketball opener for both schools.

It was the first game since January 6th for the Lady Eagles whose season had been paused due to Covid-19 contacts. East Bladen had defeated Whiteville 58-48 in an earlier non-conference game.  It was the first time the East Bladen girls had lost to Whiteville in 8 years.
