Sophmore Hannah Devane recorded a ‘hat trick’ of 3 goals to lead East Bladen’s Lady Eagles to a season-opening 5-1 non-conference girls soccer victory over visiting Red Springs Monday night.
Devane fired in two of her three goals in the first half as the Lady Eagles built a 3-0 halftime lead. Junior Maddie West knocked in the other first half goal for East Bladen.
Junior Justyna Gargala scored the fourth East Bladen goal late in the second half, and Devane posted the hat trick by blasting in a free kick from 25 yards out.
Senior Claire Campbell, junior Cassie Hill and Gargala recorded assists for East Bladen. Senior goalkeeper Kathryn Cole had 3 saves in goal for the Lady Eagles.
Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles travel to East Columbus Wednesday for a 4:30 match.
