ELIZABETHTOWN – Senior Hannah Devane almost posted two ‘Hat Tricks’ Tuesday night as she poured in 5 goals in a 9-0 mercy-rule victory for East Bladen over St. Pauls in their Three Rivers Conference girls soccer opener.

Devane also dished out two assists for the Lady Eagles. Freshman Kenia Medina and sophomore Patience Ward fired in one goal each, and junior Ting Lin drilled in a penalty kick for another East Bladen goal.

Junior Ashley Hardin was credited with 3 assists for the winners. Freshman Sara Gargala, junior Sarah Johnson and junior Ashton Magby contributed one assist each.

Hardin keyed the East Bladen defensive effort with 17 steals. Gargala collected 14 steals, and freshman Katie Evans racked up 12 steals.

Ward and sophmore Cybil Campbell totaled 10 steals each, and sophmore Gracyn Martin made 9 steals. Johnson, Devane, Medina and sophmore Izzy Smith had 8 steals each.

Junior Ting Lin recorded the shutout in goal for the Lady Eagles. East Bladen rolled to a 6-0 halftime lead.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles improved to 1-0 in the Three Rivers and 2-0 overall.
