PEMBROKE – Sophomore Josie McLean banged in a pair of goals, and Purnell Swett’s Lady Rams snapped a 2-2 tie with a trio of 2nd half goals enroute to a 5-2 non-conference girls’ soccer victory Monday night over West Bladen.

Junior Brookee Singletary knocked in the 1st Lady Knight goal off a corner kick in the 12th minute of play. Six minutes later senior Kaden Thurman sent a free kick to freshman Karla Mejia Rodriguez who fired in the 2nd West Bladen goal.

Junior Briana Carranza Toledo was credited with 10 saves in goal for West. Sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz sparked the Lady Knight defense with 7 steals. Sophomores Haileigh Seabolt and Yuridia Santana-Dominguez finished with 6 steals each, and senior Lainey Autry, Singletary and junior Shamaria Jackson contributed 5 steals each.

Sophomores Anileigh Locklear, Jahna Locklear and Maryah Locklear scored 1 goal each for the Lady Rams.

West Bladen, now 1-2, will visit East Columbus Wednesday at 4 p.m.
