ROSE HILL – Senior Kaden Thurman fired in 2 goals Thursday night to lead West Bladen to a 4-1 non-conference girls’ soccer victory over Union. The Lady Knights led 2-1 at halftime.

Junior Brookee Singletary and sophomore O’Mara McDonald knocked in 1 goal each for the Lady Knights who peppered the Lady Spartan goal with 21 shots. Kaden Thurman had 5 shots on goal, and senior Lainey Autry and sophomore Jazmy Funez Aranda were credited with 4 shots each. McDonald totaled 3 shots on goal.

Senior Eva Ayala-Martinez piled up 14 steals to lead the West defense. Sophomore Haleigh Seabolt racked up 12 steals, and sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz finished with 10 steals. Junior Sarah Dillard came up with 8 steals, and freshman Makenna Thurman followed with 7 steals.

Junior Briana Carranza Toledo recorded 8 saves in goal for the winners.

Coach Kristen Parker’s Lady Knights raised their record to 3-6 and will travel to South Columbus Friday for a 5 p.m. game. Union drops to 5-3-1.
