LAKE WACCAMAW – Senior Lainey Autry fired in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Wednesday to lead West Bladen to a 5-2 non-conference girls’ soccer victory over East Columbus. It was Autry’s 2nd ‘Hat Trick’ of the season.

Autry also dished out 1 assist and had 5 shots on goal and 3 steals. Senior Kaden Thurman knocked in a goal for the winners and was credited with 6 steals. Sophomore Jazmy Funez Aranda banged in the other Lady Knight goal and matched Autry’s 5 shots on goal. She also had 5 steals.

Sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz sparked the West defense with 9 steals. Sophomore Haleigh Seabolt came up with 6 steals, and junior Shamaria Jackson and sophomore Yuridia Santana-Dominguez finished with 5 steals each.

Junior Briana Carranza Toledo shutout the Lady Gators for 72 minutes, before East scored a couple of late goals. Freshman Karen Rodriguez Manzano finished up in goal for West. The Lady Knights led 4-0 at halftime.

Coach Kristen Parker’s Lady Knights evened their record at 2-2 and will open Southeastern Athletic Conference play Tuesday night at Clinton.
