LAKE WACCAMAW – West Bladen avenged an earlier loss by defeating East Columbus 5-4 Tuesday in non-conference girls’ tennis action.

Junior Lainey Autry and sophomores Brookee Singletary and Yari Santana pulled out big singles wins for the Lady Knights, and Autry and junior Kaden Thurman captured a key win at #1 doubles.

“It was a good win for the Lady Knights going into conference play,” said West Bladen Coach Billy Bryant.


East Columbus #1 defeated Kaden Thurman (WB) 6-1, 6-2

East Columbus #2 defeated Courtney Hester (WB) 6-2, 6-0

Lainey Autry (WB) defeated East Columbus #3 6-4, 3-6, 10-8

Yari Santana (WB) def. East Columbus #4 7-5, 6-4

East Columbus #5 def. Kiera Lewis (WB) 6-2, 6-2

Brookee Singletary (WB) defeated East Columbus #6 6-0, 6-1


Thurman/Autry (WB) def. East Columbus #1 8-8 (10-4)

East Columbus #2 def. Hester/Santana (WB) 8-4

Mauri Flores/Rosie Miller (WB) def. East Columbus #3 DF

The Lady Knights evened their record at 2-2 and will travel to East Bladen Thursday for a 4 p.m. match.
