BLADENBORO – Unbeaten Whiteville defeated West Bladen 3-0 Tuesday in non-conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-18. The Lady Wolfpack improved to 7-0 with the win.
Junior Makayla Wright pounded in 7 kills, 3 blocks and 6 service points to lead the Lady Knights. Junior Whitney McLean hammered in 8 kills and had 1 assist. Senior Caroline Brisson drilled in 3 aces and had 1 dig.
Sophomore Jenna McLean delivered 4 assists, 2 service points and a kill for West Bladen. Junior Emily Young dished out 3 assists and added 2 service points and a kill. Sophomore Karly Ross tallied 3 service points and a dig, and sophomore Trinity Meares knocked down 2 kills.
The Lady Knights, now 1-2, will open Southeastern Athletic Conference Thursday when they entertain East Bladen.
